200 Down. A Shitload To Go.

I just can't get this song out of my head - "Kent Avenue Freeze - Out, Ba da Bum bumm" |
One wannabe film maker douche hid inside his apartment trembling like a leaf while sending email reports to a hipster friendly website called Gowanus Lounge. He said :
" i am actually still here. right now i am hoping that the cops banging the shit out of the doors go away. i'm on gchat constantly at the moment. i 'm unable to use the phone right now. my charger is elsewhere and i can't go get it. but yeah, i'm still here with the dog. i have a feeling this will be the last night i ever spend here. it just feels that way. creepy as hell around here right now."
I say : Poor Dog.
I say: HA
I say: Make a movie of it and express yourself.
I say: I bet you could really use a hot Latte on a cold night like this.
I say: Go West
So anyway, these hipsters basically don't care that the city may have saved their bohemian lives. They don't understand that in a big city like this, there needs to be strict building fire and safety codes unlike their home states of Ohio and Minnesota. They just want to be left alone to prance around and live the cool life and show us normal people that they are so much better because they understand film speeds and progressive music. Think twice the next time you decide to pay $3000 a month to live in a Matzo factory and create future Louvre, er I mean Galapagos exhibits. Here are some links to the story:
NY Times: Hipsters Freeze
AM NY: Iced Mocha Soy Lattes for everyone!
Metro NY : Feels like Minnesota out there.
P.S. - Matzo is great with a schmear of margarine.

Thats what happens when dirty hipsters move into a so called "Large Cool LOFT"
There are so many lofts that are unstable in Brooklyn. These lofts were old factories and storage houses from the early 1900's.

I wish the city would have let them stay. We could have had a BBQ. Anyone have a match? Veggie burgers for everyone!!!

the building in question was hardly a "hipster" haven. most of the folks that lived at 475 had been there for as much as ten years. real-life working artists...not a bunch of 22 yr. old recent NYU grads from the midwest in skinny jeans. this eviction, while entirely legal, does unfortunately represent a larger concern. artists in New York, REAL artists who contribute dramatically to this great city's "cultural capital" are being priced out of existence. if you think the tenants of 475 were annoying hipsters, just wait till the building gets "renovated" and the new wave moves in. perhaps before you post a piece like this you should familiarize yourself with some of the deeper issues involved. The author Richard Florida and his book "The Flight of the Creative Class: The New Global Competition for Talent" might help redirect your truly misguided rant.

I am all for this anti-hipster site but the writers should actually do some RESEARCH on what they're writing before posting preposterous shit like this article. Whoever wrote this article OBVIOUSLY has never known anyone or has never been to 475 Kent. I was one of the numerous NON-HIPSTER tenants that were evacuated last Sunday. We consisted of bankers, lawyers, PhD holders, business owners, artists of all mediums (photography, printing, writing etc...) not trust fun baby wanna-be's. The demographics varied and spanned from ages 30+. It's ashame to think that writers of this site could be so misinformed.
"This is not one of the loft buildings full of stupid hipster kids... There was a difference, you could feel it when you walked into the building"

Hey M N M,
First of all. I'm sure a banker, lawyer, PhD holder, business owner and artist would be able to take a quick look through this site and realize its atleast 50% "parody". (Look it up) Second of all, I guess a banker, lawyer, PhD holder, business owner and artist can be dumb enough to knowingly live in a factory and realize that one day the shit will hit the fan. How stupid can you be. Hence the point of the article is to show that some people will go to all lengths to be "cool" or "ironic" and they all seem to move from other parts of the country and end up in 2 zipcodes. Now go find another illegal building to live in or go back to where you came from.

To diehipster:
You're right! This is a parody. I don't even know why I even called this an article and why I even referred to you as a writer. You are truly a "joke" (look it up). Now go on, now, and project some of your insecurities and aggression on some more hipsters and other social subcultures that have rejected a coward like you.
Cheers!!!
