I'm empathetic to rent prices raising and people having to live in crappier apartments with longer commutes b/c of a lack of rent control. I'm not empathetic to your neighbors not all being 3rd generation New Yorkers. I actually don't hate New Yorkers, east coasters, and the like. I have had a great time visiting friends that are born and bred New Yorkers in the past and have nothing against the city or people that live there.

Some people, like myself, aren't priviledged enough to have parents that raise them in the same town and communitee all of their lives. Some people have to move.
